TRANS4GREEN TOOLBOX

Welcome to TRANS4GREEN – a training platform for building green skills in tourism

Today’s world is changing rapidly, driven by the green and digital transformation. This transition requires not only new policies and business models but also new knowledge and skills that to enable people to succeed both in their personal and professional lives.

Green skills” are becoming a key factor for the future economy. According to version 1.1 of ESCO (the European multilingual classification of Skills, Competences, Qualifications, and Occupations), they include 381 skills, 185 knowledge concepts, and 5 transversal skills. Transversal skills are particularly significant, as once acquired, they can be applied across a wide range of professions and economic sectors.

The TRANS4GREEN platform provides educators, vocational training professionals, stakeholders, and businesses with comprehensive access to resources for building green skills in the tourism sector, based on active learning methodologies.

The developed materials are aligned with and complement the Holistic Methodology for Teaching Green Transversal Skills in Tourism VET, developed within the TRANS4GREEN project .

Tourism has been chosen as the sectoral focus due to its dual relationship with the environment — relying on natural resources to attract visitors, while also exerting significant pressure on them. Moreover, tourism plays a crucial role as a source of employment, including for disadvantaged groups in the labour market, such as people with disabilities, those from socio-economically vulnerable backgrounds, youth, migrants, and many others.

The resources in this section are designed for use in tourism courses within vocational education and training. Teachers, instructors, and learners can freely integrate them to the training curriculum or use them to further develop learners’ knowledge and skills.

The resources in this section are specifically designed for disadvantaged learners — incl. people with mild to moderate disabilities, those with disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds, or learning difficulties. They are also suitable for on-the-job training for young people and beginners, supporting their successful inclusion and personal development.
