The second co-design focus group workshop took place on 5 July. The event was organised by the International Management Institute and took place in Dobrich.
Representatives from the tourism industry, educators and trainers, as well as learners, accepted the invitation to participate in this workshop to share their insights on green skills building and to evaluate the best active learning methods for teaching transversal green skills in tourism.
The workshop started with a short presentation of the project concept as well as of the current macro-trends (green and digital transition) and their impact on the labour market and therefore the need to integrate green skills in the educational agenda.
The presentation was followed by a detailed discussion on the existing business needs for green skills and the ongoing practices to equip young learners with such skills and mindset.
Based on the pre-developed list of questions, the focus group participants discussed and exchanged ideas and good practices on the place, duration and structure of green skills training within the existing educational curricula.
At the end of the event, the participants evaluated the best active learning methods for teaching transversal green skills in tourism, thus providing input to the organisers for the development of the TRANS4GREEN Methodology and Toolbox.
