If well managed, tourism can have a positive impact on the environment and on host communities.

To make the most of its potential to help create a better future, the tourism sector needs professionals with green skills who can help it navigate the challenges and opportunities of green transition.

VET builds the right skills

A changing world of work brings the importance of vocational education and training to the fore, as it can suggest relevant training opportunities and develop the right skills for the future.

VET systems can better align education and skills with emerging trends and needs in society and labour markets.

Tourism VET can equip a wide range of learners with the skills, attitudes and behaviours that will enable them to be thoughtful consumers and future workers, unlocking the sector’s green potential.

The TRANS4GREEN project

TRANS4GREEN is a small-scale project, that valorize the role of green skills for the sustainable development of toursim.

The project aims to incorporate green skills into tourism VET in Bulgaria, Turkey and Lithuania so as to enhance the capacity of the learners and graduates with diverse profiles to benefit from emerging career opportunities presented by sustainable tourism.

The project is designed to respond to the needs of the regions and countries in which the project partners operate, in particular the need for green skills in tourism, and to provide a solution within VET.

A co-design focus-group workshop in Lithuania

The third co-design focus group workshop took place on 12th of August in Lithuania. The event was organised by Graičiūnas School of Management (AVM).
Representatives from the tourism sector, educators, trainers and learners joined the workshop.
